Seeing So Manny People!
Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey y’all! Hope your day is going well so far! Little note for those who follow the blog Instagram, I have never had Instagram before, believe it or not, and am trying to get better at it for you guys. I don’t realize I should’ve taken pictures of my everyday life or record little things because I haven’t ever really done that before. Take pictures/videos of my little life so that I can post them later. Kind of a new thing for me. Saying all that, I do want to try and get more content out to all y’all over there! I’m tryin’ my darndest! Haha!
This morning, for my snack I have a granola bar, and for my drink I have some more of that homemade lemonade I was also having while writing Wednesday’s post. Definitely is very bitter now, but somehow, I like it. Haha! I am also listening to some Disney Piano Only music. Grab your fuzziest blanket, a fun drink and let’s get into it!
Wednesday 1/28
Today I had a lot to do. Well, it felt like a lot. Haha!
I got up and went with Hubby to pick up one of our trucks. It’s been having one issue, and it wasn’t fixed properly. But we were able to pick it up today! And it’s doing so much better than before.
I drove one truck home, and Hubby drove the other to a work call. I went home and started writing a lengthy blog post for the day. I didn’t have any time to write and post on Monday, so I put it with Wednesday’s post. It took a little longer than normal, but it still got out to you guys!
Now that the writing was done, I was onto chores. I was seeing a friend later and wanted to get some things done around the house. I did the dishes, started and finished laundry and I picked up the kitchen. Doesn’t sound like the biggest list, but dishes took me around an hour and a half to do. We had so many because we had made a full-blown dinner for our friends (see blog post here for more details on that). So, I had double and some more dishes to be cleaned. If you are new here, you may be wondering how someone has over an hour of dishes to do. Well, to answer your question the shortest way possible, we don’t have a dishwasher. Yeah, I know, but we manage. Can’t wait to have a dishwasher in our future place.
Little insert here for how you may be able to do chores while not hatting them. When I clean, I put in my AirPods and turn on a favorite playlist or a podcast. If you have a favorite podcast, wait to listen to the episode until you have to clean. Save the new episodes for when you want to clean so you’re looking forward to it. Most podcast episodes will be an hour or longer. I find once I have my podcast in and I finished the cleaning I had to do but the episode isn’t over, I will look for things that need to be cleaned/picked up so that I can continue to listen. If you can do that, you will start to enjoy and look forward to cleaning. I find this is the best way I actually clean. Haha! Great motivator!
After cleaning, I drove over to my friend’s home. They just had a little one and I wanted to see her baby and chat with my friend. It was so nice to properly catch up with her and see her little one.
3 hours later, I had to give the baby one last huggle before saying goodbye. And I can’t wait to have one of my own. <3 I couldn’t go back home, I needed to go to Target to get a new pair of jeans for my interview on Thursday (aka next day). I went over and I realized I didn’t know my jean size in waist by length. Which meant I had to grab literally gobs of jeans to try on and see if I got the right size. One big guessing game really. But safe to say I now know my size in jeans. Haha! I grabbed the jeans I wanted, looked through the belts, grabbed one and I was done! About an hour of trying on jeans, but at least I had them!
I drove home and hung out for a bit. Hubby came home a little later and we talked and hung out while having a bite to eat. Soon thereafter, we got ready and went to bed.
Thursday 1/29
Today I got up at a good time! Still stickin’ to getting up early. Hubby and I got ready and headed back to my grandma’s home. We have been helping her declutter and organize the garage for her. It’s been great being able to do that for her and have a chance to hang out and chat with her.
For the first part of the day decluttering, I went through her jewelry. Now, it is inside, but didn’t I say we were doing the garage? Yes, but when talking on Monday, I showed her I still had the ring that was my great grandmothers (her mother) and I told her I love having jewelry that was older, therefore nicer. I also love having things passed down to me. I know whose it was and be able to love that piece again as they did. After telling my grandma that, she said I could go through hand declutter her jewelry box.
Back to Thursday, I started going through the many layers of the standing jewelry box, the one I would go through when I was little. I found some beautiful rings and earrings I loved. I’ll make sure to give y’all some pictures of them at the bottom of the post! One of the rings and a pair of earrings I decided to wear for the rest of the day. I love them so much.
As I was finishing cleaning out her jewelry box, it was time for me to go to my interview! I’ve talked about this in more detail in previous posts, but at the end of the day, today’s economy is built around both people needing to work a job. Both the husband and the wife need one to be solid. Because of this, Hubby and I think it is smart for me to go back to work now so I won’t have to when we have kiddos and I can be a stay-at-home wife. I agreed and started looking for fun jobs that I would enjoy. I found and got an interview with a doggy daycare/grooming/boarding place. I was so excited because I love animals and I would love the position. I had the interview and I wasn’t nervous going into or during it! Praise the Lord!
When I was done, I went to grab lunch for the three of us. I ordered on the McDonald’s app and went to pick it up. Personally, I don’t enjoy going through drive throughs, and it’s such a pain to have to park, go inside, order, etc. When I figured out you could order on the app and wait in your car for your food I was over the moon. If I was there I could do it. If I was 10 minutes away I could do it. So, stinkin’ conveniount! Highly recommend doing this.
I got our food and headed back to my grandma’s home. And while I was gone, Hubby and my grandma put quite the dent in it! We were in the home stretch! We went through what needed to be done and were at the organizing part. I went to Home Depot and got a few different organizers. I got a tool organizer, some 3-inch screws, 2 plastic bins, a smaller tool bag to keep in the house and a long hook to hold the extension cord. I came back home and everything was perfect! Hubby and grandma were just waiting for me to start hanging stuff up and organizing. I started putting together the small tool bag with the other tools and things she already had in the garage while Hubby hung the tool organizers.
Some people may hate this, but if anything, need to be organized, I’m your girl. I organized my grandma’s 2 tool bags that were filled with screws, nails, picture hangers and wall anchors. Of course with some tools scattered around. I took out every single nail and screws and reorganized it. I wish a had a picture because I’m so proud of how it turned out, but y’all will just have to imagine how wonderfully organized they are. Haha!
When it was time for us to go, the garage looked so great. We said our goodbyes and Hubby and I were off to the next thing. We grabbed a small bite to eat before going over to his parent’s home to grab a tool. We then went over to our friend’s home to help them with their clogged toilet. And Hubby fixed it in 10-15 minutes! We stayed for a bit longer talking and seeing their baby.
And when it was time, we all said our goodbye and we went home. We hung out for a short bit together, then got ready and went to bed.
A Little Encouragement
Today’s Bible verse is 1 Peter 4:10:
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
