Midweek Chores and Cozy Little Moments

Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey y’all! I don’t feel too great today. Which means todays post is going to be a shorter than usual. I’ve already had some breakfast, but I’ve got a glass of water and I’m ready to chat! Not my usual drink of choice, but it’s good for you, so I guess it’ll work. So grab a drink, grab a seat, and let’s get to chattin’!

Wednesday 11/19

I got up around 8:30am, which isn’t bad. I made some eggs for breakfast and Hubby headed off to work. After eating, I started writing the blog for today and actually finished a whole hour before needing to upload. Super happy I wasn’t rushing—y’all deserve quality content without me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Haha!

Once the post was done, I moved on to the daily chores. Y’all know the drill: vacuuming, laundry, putting away and washing dishes, deep cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, and picking up around the house. Just the usual around here. Surprisingly, I really enjoy cleaning—it’s relaxing doing something mindless with a podcast playing in the background.

After cleaning, my mom texted asking for pictures from throughout 2025 for the family calendars she makes every year. It’s such a sweet thing she does. I sent her some fun pics and then moved on to something painfully slow but still fun to finish: the crochet baby lovey I’ve been making for my friend.

And let me tell y’all…I’ve learned I do not enjoy doing amigurumi. Pretty sure all it is, is making a bunch of tiny pieces you stitch together to make one cute thing, and whew, it is a process. But after a few lovingly painful hours, I finished it! It turned out adorable, and I hope my friend loves it.

After that, I worked on more LEGO scenes. These things have had me in a chokehold for what feels like weeks but has actually only been days. I’m having such a blast making them. I took a quick break for dinner, then went right back to building.

Hubby came home, did some homework, and I kept building LEGO with my TV show playing in the background. When it was time for bed, I put the finishing touches on my build and called it a night. And that was Wednesday!

Thursday 11/20

This morning I slept in…like slept in slept in. I didn’t get up until 10am. I grabbed a granola bar for a light breakfast and jumped straight into writing my newsletter. If y’all want to read even more from me, subscribe to The Sugar Bowl below! I finished the rant for today’s post about five minutes before it got sent out—classic me. Hubby left for work while I was writing.

After I hit send, I jumped back into my chores: laundry, dishes, vacuuming, picking up. Honestly? I kind of loved cleaning today.

Once the house was lookin’ decent again, I made another batch of Chili’s Soup. I meant to double it a few days ago, but I was too tired at the time, so today was the day. I had some for lunch and man, it was delicious. Definitely one of my favorite meals.

I watched some of my show while eating, then put the soup away and worked on another crochet baby lovey. Yep—two of my friends are havin’ babies, and I’m loving making these gifts for their little ones. I’ll post pics next week since I don’t want either of them seeing their surprise!

When that was done, I went right back to LEGO while watching some YouTube. It really feels like my week has been: chores, LEGO, food, LEGO. Hubby came home, we got ready bed, and headed straight there.

A Little Encouragement

Today’s Bible verse is Proverbs 31:27:
“She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”

Thank y’all for reading today’s post! It’s a little shorter than normal, but not much happened these past two days. And I don’t feel great on top of that. Lol Hope y’all have a cozy day and stay warm! Bye y’all!

With a spoonful of sweetness, Rachel
