NEW POST! Many Things Goin’ On, But I Did Read! A Lot. I Read A Lot.
Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey y’all! Hope all y’all have had a great weekend! Today is a bit different. Because I posted Friday’s post on Saturday and gave y’all Friday as a sorry, today is just going to be Saturday and Sunday. If this is a bit confusing, that’s fine. Haha! Y’all are getting the same content.
Today I’ve got one of my homemade sodas with some of my country music from Spotify in the background. Grab a chair and your favorite drink and let’s catch up!
Saturday 1/17
This morning, Hubby and I got up early. We had so much to do today we had to get an early start!
One of Hubby’s friends came over to look at one of our cars and to go shooting. When they left, I started on writing the blog post for today. It was supposed to be posted on Friday, but I didn’t have enough time to do so because I was doing so much. They got back before I finished and they chatted in the living room while I finished up.
I finished my post and Hubby’s friend left, but we weren’t done with the day. We had a birthday party to go to for Hubby’s aunt’s dad. We got there and had such a great time catching up with everyone. And meeting new people, of course.
When it was time, Hubby and I drove back home to pick up Tucker for his puppy play date! If you want to see the highlights from the puppy play date, I’ve got them on the blog’s Instagram! We met up with some of our friends and their dogs. The three pups had such a great time running around with each other. Hubby and I actually found out that Tucker is a very social dog. He didn’t start playing with our friends’ dogs, he went straight to the unknown dogs. Haha! He riled them all up and got pretty much every dog to play tag and run with him. It was so much fun watching him play with all the doggos.
It got dark quickly, but the dogs didn’t care. But the humans did. We packed up our pups and said our goodbyes. We drove Tuck back home and we all crashed.
After a bit, I got ready to go to bed, but I continued reading my book, The Housemaid. Can’t wait to finish it! When it was time though, I put my book away and went to bed.
Sunday 1/18
Today Hubby and I got up early together. We hung out and chatted for a bit before starting the day. While I took a quick shower, he started making pancakes for breakfast. When I came out, I was just in time!
Hubby and I quickly ate then got dressed and ready for church. Right before we headed out the door, I grabbed a mandarin and we headed off to church! The sermon was so good and I really enjoyed it. We both really did.
Hubby was meeting one of his buddies for lunch, and I tagged along. I read The Housemaid with my Airpods in to give them some guy time. And man, did I read a lot of that book! I really invite y’all to grab a copy from a friend or from this link. It’s a crazy book with so many twists and turns. Really lives up to being a phycological thriller! Haha!
The guys finished their hour and a half lunch, said goodbye, and headed our separate ways. Hubby and I drove home and hung out for a half hour. Him on his phone and myself reading my book. When it was time, he got up and said goodbye before leaving to go to a friend’s house to hang out.
He asked me what my plans were for the night and I responded with, “just gonna continue to read my book!” I read for maybe like, 4-5 hours last night. If the math isn’t right, it sure felt like that long! I read with the animals surrounding me until Hubby came back. I always clean and it feels like I don’t have a lot of breaks to myself. Being on my phone doesn’t count though. Because when you’re done scrolling for what felt like 10 minutes, it ends up you were scrolling for 2 hours and haven’t gotten anything good done. So, I decided to read and I didn’t regret it at all.
I also try and not do any housework on Sunday, because it’s everyone’s day of rest from work. Because I work at home keeping the household running, dishes/laundry/vacuuming/picking up (and much more) is my work. It doesn’t hurt to skip one day of cleaning. But I will do things like wash a few dishes for the day and cook.
Hubby came home and we decided it was a quick date night kind of night. We decided to go to Menchies and get some frozen yogurt. After building our sweet treats, we hung out and talked in the car. I feel some of my favorite talks between each other are had in the car.
He finished much faster than myself, and as we headed home, I continued to nurse my froyo. But it was completely gone by the time we got home. We came inside and got ready for bed. We want to start reading for a bit before bed, and the best way to do that is to get ready for bed (brush teeth, change, etc.) before reading. We did just that and read for a half hour or so. I’m so close to finishing my book and I wanted to finish, but it would’ve taken me another hour to do so. I put my sticky note onto the page I’m on and we went to bed.
A Little Encouragement
Today’s Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:5:
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.”
Thanks to all y’all who read today’s post! A lot of activities were crammed into just 2 days, but it was all a lot of fun. I know I’ve said this a lot in this post, but I just can’t wait to finish my book, The Housemaid! I’ll tell y’all how much I like it when I finish!
With that, I hope y’all have a great rest of your day!
