Everyday Life with a Little Fun Mixed In
Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey y’all! Hope you are all having a great day. We are finally back to scheduled program! For those who are new and don’t know the scheduled programing, I will be putting the schedule for when I post on my blog and newsletter on the Home Page of my website and on the blog’s Instagram.
This morning, I am drinking one of my homemade sodas (Raspberry Lemonade flavored) and unlike most days, I have a snack with me! Today I am snacking on some Trader Joe’s Chilli and Lime-flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. If y’all don’t know or haven’t had these, they are pretty much their version of Takis. Burn your mouth off good. Haha! For music today, I’m listening to some Disney Parks Ambiance music. And man is it a jam!
Grab a seat, a sweet drink, a spicy snack, and let’s get chatting!
Monday 1/19
This morning, I got up again at an early time! I’m honestly so happy I can keep this habit up and continue to get up early! After getting up, Hubby went out and I stayed home. I hung out on the couch for a bit before going over to my local pharmacy. I’ve been waiting for one of my meds to come in, but it wasn’t ready yet.
I made my way home and it seemed Hubby got home before me. We had been wanting to do this for a while (maybe a few weeks at most), but we had to do it now. One of our trucks has been acting up and we had to get it into the shop. Even better, the truck that had to go was Hubby’s dedicated work truck for his business. And it was filled to the brim with tools and parts. Because we already had to clean one truck, we decided to put our noses to the grindstone and clean both.
I worked on my everyday truck (which also has its own issues arising now. yay) while Hubby worked on the other. I started with taking everything out of the truck and putting it in piles. I then got started on finding all the garbage that needed to be thrown away. I brought out our trash can and got to work. I also made to grab the vacuum when I was inside, and I took out all the floor mats and vacuumed under them.
By the time we were done, both trucks were beautiful on the inside, and we only had 30 minutes to get the work truck to the shop before they closed! Hubby went first and I followed him to the shop. He dropped off the keys and we went back home.
We got home and decided it would be a good time to take Tucker out for a half hour or so to the baseball field next to our home. We walked there with a wiffle bat and a few tennis balls. But if you know Tucker, he likes tennis balls inside the house, but not outside. You could give that dog every toy in the world while he was outside, but he would always go back to his trusty toy. A stick. Haha!
Hubby and I hit a few balls while Tucker ran around showing off and chewing on his stick. When he was done playing, we walked back home. Now, I’m not sure if y’all are wondering why we want to try and take Tuck out everyday and maybe some of y’all already know. But because he is a big breed (Black Lab and Bull Mastiff mix, aka a Mastador) and he’s only 7 months old, he needs a lot of time running around outside. Walks are good for him, but he loves being free to run around. So, we prioritize it and try to get him outside as much as we can.
We got to the house and hung out for about 30 minutes. Hubby and I had plans for tonight. He was going to go and hang out with some of his buddies while I was going to hang out with some of my friends. I tried to finish The Housemaid before my friend got to the house, but I still have maybe 5 short chapters left! The 2 girls I hung out with read the book and I wanted to talk about it with them so badly! But next time.
This is probably so confusing for y’all. I’ll give my girl friends fake names for your sake and mine. Haha! After Grace picked me up (because we only have one car right now) we went to Katie’s house. After getting there, us 3 girls talked and hung out. But we eventually were itching to play a game. Katie brought out all her board games she had, and we all decided to play Disney Monopoly, (I couldn’t find a link for it on Amazon or the Disney Store, but I linked the Google search to see if you want it!) which I was so excited about. If you don’t know me, I love playing Monopoly and I LOVE Disney, so I was ready. We played for a good while until mine and Katie’s husbands came home. They watched us play for a bit before it was time to go. Here are the places us three girls came in: 1st place – Grace, 2nd place – myself and 3rd place – Katie. We had such a great time talking and jumping up and down excited when we landed on an unowned property. Haha!
Hubby and I drove home, got ready, and went to bed.
Tuesday 1/20
Today I got up and hung out for a bit. Now that I think about it, should’ve read my book instead of being on my phone. Oh well. But I then took Tucker to a few places. I took him with me to all these places to get him some brain stimulation. We went to Tractor Supply for some dog stuff. Next, we went to my local pharmacy to check up on my meds. And the last stop was Home Depot for some boxes to organize the storage unit.
We got everything I needed and headed home. When I unloaded the truck with Hubby, I started boxing stuff up that needs to go to the storage unit. And I could finally take our tree down! Hey, I love Christmas and everything, but that tree was in the way all the time and was just a pain. It for sure overstayed it’s welcome. Haha! The tree comes in 3 pieces (top, middle, bottom) and I could only fit the top piece into an extra-large box. The other pieces need to be stored in black garbage bags…that are at the storage unit. So, the other pieces will have to wait. But I was able to tuck the tree skirt, tree stand and some other small things into the box with the top part of the tree in it.
I then looked around the house at what else I could box up. I also put away some things that were not in their homes. And away they went!
In the kitchen, the sink was starting to fill up with dishes. We had a Dish Mountain, but it was only a Dish Hill. Because I had dishes to wash and needed to post on the blog Instagram, I thought why not kill two birds with one stone. I propped up my phone and started on Dish Hill. And I conquered it! Just had a few chunky dishes I also had to do but couldn’t fit anywhere to dry. So, we still have a slight Dish Hill, but we got the bulk of it done.
I then got a notification my prescription was ready to pick up, so Hubby and I drove, got it and came home. We hung out for a bit talking and went out for dinner. We went to Brookfields and had a great time. I got their hotcake breakfast while Hubby got the country breakfast. It was oh so good. We talked about some house stuff that needed to be done, looked for potential jobs for myself, and just talked about whatever. It was a really sweet date night. And even better, we had a gift card!
After eating, we headed home, got ready and went to bed!
A Little Encouragement
Today’s Bible verse is Titus 2:3-4:
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children.”
Thanks to all y’all for reading today’s post! I hope y’all have a great rest of your day and I will see y’all on Friday!
With a Spoonful of Sugar, Rachel
