NEW POST! Hangin’ Out With Family
Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey y’all! Hope all y’all are having a great day. Today I don’t have a drink but I do have a snack, bein some honey nut cheerios. And I’ve got some YouTube in the background. With that, grab a blanket, warm drink, and let’s chat!
Monday 12/15
This morning I got up later than usual. I’ve found it has been a current theme over the last few days. Really gotta work on getting up earlier. After getting up, I started some laundry and worked on the blog post for that day.
After writing, I started planning meals for this month. I like to try and plan out meals for a month so I’m not going to the store every week. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But it is nice to not have to go every week. I planned out what we’d have for dinner and some things for breakfast and lunch. Planning meals took longer than I was planning, but I guess that’s what I get for having the TV on in the background! Haha!
When I finished planning meals, I swapped the laundry and started on the dishes. Pretty normal stuff. I then moved onto getting ready to go to my parents house. And I brought Tucker too! My brother just got home from college the night before and I wanted to see him. He wasn’t home yet, so I worked on some business stuff and hung out with my parents until he got home. While I was waiting, I worked in my parents office with the big monitors. Makes everything so much easier to do work. Haha! I wrote out some texts to text family and friends about our business. After I finished the work stuff, I built some of the LEGO cat for a little bit. After, I had dinner with my parents then my brother was home.
We all hung out for a bit, but it was eventually time for me to go home. I packed up Tucker, said goodbye, and headed home. When I got home, Hubby and I hung out for a bit. We also made some hot cocoa with some homemade peppermint whipped cream! I came up with the whipped cream, but it was so good! Here’s the botched recipe for it. Haha! It’s also for just 1 person/cup of cocoa
Ingredients:
about 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
half a 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
half a 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 heaping spoonfulls powder sugar
Recipe:
combine all in a cup or bowl and whisk using a hand mixer until desired thickness
and that’s it!
After making cocoa and hanging out, we got ready and went to bed.
Tuesday 12/16
Once I got up, still workin’ on that, I got ready and went shopping. I had already ordered groceries on Walmart the day before, so all I had to do was go and pick them up! I knew about picking up groceries at Walmart, but I thought it cost you to do so. But in reality, you save money! It doesn’t cost anything to pick them up, but you get cheaper prices! I’m not sponsored by Walmart, but I really wanted to tell y’all about it because it is such a life changer!
After getting groceries from Walmart, I had to go over to Costco and grab some things in bulk. Not gonna lie, it was quite nice. Definitely showed me how much I needed to get out of the house. Lol
When I got home, Hubby helped me bring everything in and I put it away. After, I got started on hopefully finishing the cookie boxes for our neighbors and family and friends. Side note, I did not finish them. When it was time, Hubby and I got ready and went out to dinner with my grandparents and parents for my Granddad’s birthday. It was fun to hang out and talk with family. Nice break from everything.
When the evening was done, Hubby and I went home and hung out for a bit. He did homework and I hung out. And when it was time, we got ready and went to bed.
Something I want to work on is doing more in my day. I wanna do more than just cleaning, washing and shopping. I would love to read, maybe paint, draw, etc. I can make time to do things, but sometimes it’s hard to turn off the TV, put down the phone, and not be reliant on screens to entertain me. Hopefully I can report in the next post I have done at lease one of these things.
A Little Encouragement
Today’s Bible verse is James 1:17:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
With that, thank y’all for reading this post! I hope y’all had a fun time reading. Hope to see all y’all next time I post. Stay safe, warm and cozy. Bye y’all!
P.S. Tomorrow is a newsletter day!
If y’all want a little extra from me, subscribe below to The Sugar Bowl! I send out a newsletter on the first and third Thursdays of the month—the first is always a family recipe with a fun story, and the third is a rant or something fun I wanna chat about. And tomorrow is a rant day! Hope to see y’all there! :)
