Couch and Heating Pad Are My New Best Friends
Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey y’all! Hope your day is going well so far! This morning for my snack I have a protein granola bar and for background music I’ve got some more Disney Lofi. I love having that kind of music in the background when writing these for y’all. Great for writing, doing homework, drawing, etc. With that, let’s get to chatting! But don’t forget your favorite blanket and snack!
Friday 2/6
This morning, I got up, fed Tuck and took him out. I wrote my blog and did a few chores. I did the dishes, vacuumed, and did the laundry. Because I forgot to take notes of what I did today for y’all, that’s Friday for y’all. Gotta get better at writing what I did over the weekend!
Saturday 2/7
This morning, I woke up in a lot of pain. My cycle started today so I gave myself permission to have a quieter day or days and take things slow. After getting out of bed, I grabbed a snack and took some pain killers. Nothin’ new for me, unfortunately.
I went to the couch and stayed there for most of the day. I like to be productive in my day and take care of the home but today wasn’t that day. When I do start and feel like I’ve been drained of all my energy, I take it slow and watch a TV show or movie.
Hubby came home to swap trucks quickly, but we decided for him to stay with me for an hour or so. Just being there for me and helping me through the roughest day out of my cycle. He got me some food from the kitchen, got me a drink and sat with me. I have the best Hubby ever who wants to take care of me when I need it. I really am so happy to have him as my Husband for the rest of our days.
When I was feeling better, Hubby went off to his next repair job. I felt like my energy was completely drained from me, so I put on a few movies while I was waiting for him to get back home. I watched Zootopia and The Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Loved watching Zootopia. It feels like an old-new movie to me. And I was re-watching The Night at the Museum movies, and I had just one more to check off my list.
Right as I finished my second movie, Hubby came home and one of his friends also came. We had a planned dinner hangout tonight with Hubby’s friend and it was so fun. I don’t know how to put it, but when I’m around friends when I don’t feel well, talking and hanging out with them rejuvenates me. Hubby and I made dinner, burgers and mac and cheese, while talking with our friend.
It was nice to catch up and tell funny stories with them. But he did come over with a purpose, so him and Hubby went to the computer, and they did what they needed to do. While they were doing that, I thought I’d do something I haven’t done in a long time. I got out my iPad and started to draw. I love anything artsy and have loved drawing and painting for a long time, but I haven’t done it much lately. Drawing on the iPad though is the best of both worlds while also adding that I don’t have to get anything out or get things messy.
When they finished, they came back to the couch with ice cream and we talked more. I drew here and there while they talked and gave my thoughts about things here and there. When it was late enough, he went home and Hubby and I were left to ourselves. We chatted for a bit before getting ready and going to bed.
Sunday 2/8
This morning, I didn’t feel so great either. Hubby let me sleep in while I got some more sleep, and when I woke up, we went to the couch. I turned on the TV and took my pain meds while Hubby made some pancakes for us. I’m tellin’ all y’all ladies, get yourselves a husband who takes care of you and does things for you if it inconveniences him.
He came out with the pancakes made and I dug right in. They are the ones that are done everywhere besides the center, which is just barley done. They are fantastic that way in my personal opinion.
Because I didn’t feel good, we unfortunately weren’t able to go to church. After eating, we turned on church and watched together. After we realized it was time for us to go to my parents. I was feeling much better by then and was up to getting out of the house. We packed up Tucker and a few other things and we were off!
We were there to watch The Super Bowl, but none of us really are into football, but it’s a nice reason to get together with family. While having the game in the background we talked, had some delicious pizza and had a great time. Tucker even watched some of the game! Haha! If y’all didn’t catch it, I posted on the blog’s Instagram, and if you want to see Tucker watching the big game, go here to see!
When it was time, we packed up, said goodbye and went home. When getting home, we unpacked everything and went to the couch. Hubby had some homework he needed to get done and I read. I’ve been wanting to really get back into reading. If y’all remember, I was in the middle of reading The Sunrise on the Reaping, but I just lent that to one of my friends. I still wanted to read something, so I chose the series I would be reading next, which would be Divergent. I have been wanting to watch the movies, but I want to watch them after I read the books. If I’m in the middle of a book series that also has multiple movie adaptations, I will wait to watch until I have read the books. I have already seen the Divergent movies before, but it’s always fun to watch them after reading the books.
And when it was time, we packed up, got ready and went to bed.
A Little Encouragement
Today’s Bible verse is Titus 2:3-4:
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to reach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children.”
Well, those were my three days! Hope y’all have a great rest of your week and I can’t wait to see y’all on Wednesday!
With a Spoonful of Sweetness, Rachel
