What Are We Doin’ From Here On Out?

Hello! My name’s Rachel, and I’m the writer behind Would You Like Sugar With That. In this first post, I wanted to share what this blog will be about —and a little about me, too.

What I want this blog to be:

My hope is that this platform will be like a digital dining table — somewhere we can all come together and talk about different topics. Whether it be about cooking, decorating, animals or anything in between! I want to help other young wives and women by sharing my experiences and how I spend my days as a stay-at-home-wife. I pray this will become a fun and helpful page for anyone to come and read. A getaway of sorts from the outside world.

What I will be posting/writing about:

Here, you’ll find the little pieces that make up my everyday life. From morning dog walks and muddy paw prints to what’s cooking in my kitchen, I’ll be sharing it all — the meals I make, the hobbies I’m working on and the quiet in-between moments that make up my days.

Think of it like sitting down at my kitchen table with a cup of coffee and catchin’ up about what’s been goin’ on around here — the good, the busy and everything in between.

Upload schedule:

I post new blogs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!
Each post will catch you up on the past couple of days — Mondays cover the weekend and Monday, Wednesdays cover Tuesday and Wednesday, and Fridays wrap up Thursday and Friday.

If you would like more “exclusive” content that builds on my blog posts, I will also be posting something extra every other week through my email list! I’ve got some fun things planned, and it’s completely free to join — to sign up, scroll to the bottom of any page, enter your information and click subscribe.

I will be mailing my newsletter on the first and third Thursday of each month. On the first, I’ll share a favorite family recipe, and on the third, I’ll post something a bit deeper — stories, lessons learned, thoughts about a book I’m reading, and more behind-the-scenes moments from my blog.

About me!

I’m a stay-at-home wife and homemaker, and since this is our first chat together, I thought it’d be fun to answer a few questions so you can get to know the girl behind the posts.

  • Who are you in a few words?

    • I am a strong Christian, wife and country girl.

  • What’s something small that makes life sweet for you?

    • I would have to say apart from my husband and family it would be my animals. Or any animal for that matter!

  • Who shares your home (fam, pets, farm animals, etc)?

    • I live with my husband, cat (Banjo, 1) and puppy (Tucker, 4.5 months). Not a long list, but definitely feels like it at times. Haha!

  • How did you meet your husband and how long have you been married?

    • We actually met through some mutual friends at our church! We have been married for about a year and a half. Our anniversary is June 22, 2024.

      • I hope to tell a bit more of our story as time goes on. Maybe in the newsletter…

  • What do you love doing in your free time and what hobbies are you into right now?

    • I love to do a lot of things, so I will keep this list short-ish. I love to paint, draw, read, play piano and crochet. I tend to get on a kick of sorts with one thing for about a month or so and then jump to the next after I’m done with the previous. At the moment I just finished a painting kick and I hope to jump to a reading kick next! I want to reread The Hunger Games series again!

  • What’s your favorite meal to cook (or your go-to comfort food)?

    • That definitely would have to be either “Chicken Broccoli” or “Eggs, Rice and Gravy”. These are recipes passed down from my parents and I have always had a soft spot for them.

      • Stay tuned in to the newsletter. Recipes may be dropping!

  • What do you hope readers feel when they visit your site?

    • I’ve said this previously in different places, but I want visiting my site to feel like we are all sitting down at the dinner table talking about our days. I want it to feel homey, inviting and fun. Somewhere we can all sit and enjoy some sweet tea together.

With that, thank you all for reading my first post! Hope to run into ya next time we meet here.

With a spoonful of sweetness, Rachel
