Fun and Unexpected Hangout Times with Hubby
Good afternoon, y’all!
Hey, y’all! Hope you are all having a great day today! Today I have some relaxing Disney lofi music in the background and a delicious homemade soda. The former being made of sparkling water with a packet of water flavoring. Highly recommend trying it! I’m going to make in Instagram post for it here real soon. Now, pull up a chair, grab a warm drink and let’s get to catchin’ up!
Friday 1/2
Today I got up at 9am. Later than I was trying to get up at, but I’m just happy I got out of bed when it was still single digits. Haha! After getting up, I hung out with Hubby. I will say, when you can, make time to talk and hang out with your partner in small moments. Don’t plan a time to hang out. Instead of scrolling on your phone while on the couch, put down your phone and have a sweet chat with your partner. Some of my favorite chats with Hubby are when they weren’t planned.
After talking, Hubby started working on what he needed to be done, and I went to the computer to work on a few things. When I was done, I started a load of laundry and started writing the blog post for the day until it was time to be posted.
After pushing ‘publish’ on the day’s post, I started on somethin’ fun. Making an Instagram account for the blog! If y’all wanna see what I’m doing day to day rather than having to wait, go and follow! I’ve already posted a few things there if y’all wanna go see what’s there. My plan is to also let y’all know when the post is live over there.
After making and posting on the new Instagram, I went to Indeed and started to fill out some applications for jobs. I absolutely love being a stay-at-home-wife, but because Hubby and I are pretty young still, it would be nice for us to be a 2-income household rather than a single one. That is all I would like to share about that, just for personal reasons. Which I am sure y’all understand.
After applying, Hubby and I went to some friend’s homes to give them late Christmas cookies and say hi. When we were finished, we came home, got ready and went to bed.
Saturday 1/3
Today I got up at 9:30am, which is fine for a weekend. But I was about half an hour over when I wanted to be out of bed. After getting up, I did some stuff on the computer and on my phone. When I finished, I did some grocery shopping. I went to Costco, Walmart, PetSmart and HomeGoods. After failing to find what I needed at PetSmart and HomeGoods, I came home. Also, sidenote, I don’t know how anyone can go and navigate through HomeGoods. Haha! I applaud anyone who can. I went in there looked around for maybe 5 minutes and left. It was so oddly overwhelming. Lol When I got home, I unpacked the groceries I had gotten and started on the chores. I started on laundry, did dishes, vacuumed and cleaned the litter box for Banjo. The mountain of dishes is still there, but it is dwindling down!
When Hubby came home after being out at a job, we went to get him some new pants. And after we got some Panda Express and went home. My usual order from Panda is a plate with 2 portions of coconut shrimp and 2 portions of chow main. And an order of spring rolls with some sweet and sour sauce. So stinkin’ good y’all. So good.
When we came home, Hubby and I talked over enjoying dinner. Again, it’s so nice to talk with your partner when it’s not planned.
After eating, we played some good ‘ol Call of Duty. Both him and I grew up on it and we love being able to share experiences and memories. After playing, and winning multiple times, we decided to put it away. We don’t play Call of Duty, or video games for that, very much. Every few months we’ll get the itch to play, and we will do just that. Then not play for another few months. Lol
When we put it away, Hubby started on things on his computer and I went back to building the LEGO Tuxedo Cat. Those of you who are new, I am building the LEGO tuxedo cat in digital software. And when finished I am going to change the outside brick color to match my cat and order the needed brick. Sounds very complicated, but I know what I’m doing. Sort of. Haha!
And y’all know the end of the story. We got ready and went to bed.
Sunday 1/4
Today I got up later than I should have. I keep saying this, but I need to get up on time. Better get to it. Hopefully in the next post y’all will see that I got up at the right time. But consistently. Haha! After getting up, I went to the couch and hung out with Hubby. It was so nice chattin’ and hanging out with each other.
I got hungry after a bit, and I suggested we make pancakes. Well, I wanted Hubby to make them cause I’ve never done it. But he said I should learn how to. And I did! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be and it was fun doing it together.
After eating, we got ready and went to church. Great sermon per usual. We were also able to see and chat with our friends after the service.
When it was time, we went by Raley’s on the way home. We grabbed some bisquick, hair gel, mustard, bananas and cookies. Just some little stuff for the week. After we got home, I swapped out dry dishes with clean ones that needed to be dried. I try and not do anything I do during the week. In this case, it was doing dishes. Because Sunday for me is a day of rest, technically I shouldn’t be doin’ anything that is my work. And cleaning and chores are work for me. But because we will have to tackle Dish Mountain, I did the dishes.
After swapping out the dishes, I started making a late lunch. Usually for us, lunch is leftovers, but I was craving a little somethin’ somethin’ from my childhood. Homemade chicken tenders. I plan to share this meal with y’all some time, but y’all just have to wait for now! After baking them, Hubby and I ate and worked on our separate things. I went to the computer and started to make more progress on the LEGO Tuxedo Cat, and he went to hang out with some friends. I took a quick break with the cat to change my whiteboard calendar. This is so relaxing to me to change it and put new things that are going on that month. When I finished the calendar, I went back to the cat and ended up finishing it! Once I finished, I started to change the colors of the outside brick to make it look more like my cat, Banjo. This is going to be a long and tedious process because I have to make sure whatever colors I choose, I can order from the Lego website.
I was getting bored with making the Lego more like Banjo, so I switched gears. Because it was the end of the day of Sunday, I could technically start on the blog for tomorrow. Which is now today! I wrote for a bit until Hubby came home. We chatted for a bit before getting ready and we went to bed.
A Little Encouragement
Today’s Bible verse is Matthew 11:28-29:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
It was great catching up with y’all! Hope to see y’all in the next one. And don’t forget to go to the blog’s Instagram and hit follow. I have very big plans over there. Stay warm and cozy and have a great day!
With a Spoonful of Sweetness, Rachel
